This four-day canoe-access retreat invites you to slow down, reconnect with nature, and deepen your relationship with yourself through land-based teachings, plant medicine, ceremony, and community.

Accessible only by canoe, this off-grid experience offers a rare opportunity to unplug, breathe deeply, and live simply on the land.

Michela will guide you through her homelands in the Saskatchewan River Delta — a powerful, plant-rich ecosystem known for its beauty and healing presence. Located 55 km from Cumberland House, SK, this remote lodge is accessible only by boat along the Saskatchewan River.

This land offers peace, perspective, and space away from modern distractions — a place to truly unwind and reconnect.

🗓 Retreat Itinerary

Friday | Day One

  • 12:00 PM – Meet at Dale Martens Boat Launch

  • Canoe journey (approx. 4.5 hours) through the Saskatchewan River

  • Shore lunch along the way

  • 5:00 PM – Arrival at Big Eddy Lodge

  • Lodge tour & settling into accommodations

  • Opening circle & welcoming ceremony

  • Collaborative meal preparation and feast

  • Evening sauna, visiting, and relaxation

Saturday | Day Two

  • 8:00 AM – Morning yoga & meditation

  • 9:00 AM – Breakfast

  • Guided herbal walk and forest hike

  • Learn plant identification, gathering teachings, and traditional uses

  • Encouraged journaling, note-taking, and photography

  • Evening sauna & fireside conversations

Sunday | Day Three

  • 8:00 AM – Morning yoga & meditation

  • 9:00 AM – Breakfast

  • Herbal medicine making day

    • Create tinctures, balms, and tea blends

    • Learn preservation and preparation techniques

    • Take your creations home

  • Closing tea ceremony & reflection circle

  • Final evening sauna and celebration

Monday | Day Four

  • 8:00 AM – Morning yoga & meditation

  • 9:00 AM – Breakfast

  • Pack up and gratitude sharing

  • 12:00 PM – Boat departure to Cumberland House

  • Return home with daylight and full hearts

  • Offering for tea ceremony (organic tobacco, sage, sweetgrass, or personal offering)

  • This is an off-grid, wilderness experience

  • Group size is intentionally small

  • Suitable for all fitness levels with basic paddling ability
