After forming a strong bond in the Arctic, they’re bringing their knowledge and skills to you in an immersive, off-grid retreat unlike any other.

Over six unforgettable days, you’ll live close to the land at Michela’s family trapline in the heart of the Saskatchewan River Delta—an area rich with wildlife, culture, and remote beauty. This all-inclusive retreat blends daily bow-building workshops with guided spring bear hunting excursions for an experience that connects you to traditional craftsmanship, food harvesting, and deep nature living.

🏹 Daily Primitive Bow Building Course (May 21–25)

Led by master bowyer Cubby Hoover, this hands-on course walks you through the process of crafting your very own ash longbow using traditional hand tools.

• Shape and tiller your bow

• Sand, finish, and string it

• Learn basic archery techniques and safetyBy the end of the week, you’ll walk away with a fully functional self bow that you built yourself.

🐻 Spring Bear Hunt (Afternoons, May 21–25)

Guided bear hunts take place each afternoon, offering participants a respectful, ethical way to engage in traditional food harvesting. You'll hunt in Michela’s traditional territory, with access to baited stands and guidance from local experts. This is a meaningful and intentional hunt, deeply rooted in Indigenous land-based practices. Whether you’re new to hunting or a seasoned 5335.69, you’ll gain new perspectives and confidence.

Michela’s off-grid retreat center offers rustic cabin accommodations, nourishing meals, and deep cultural connection. Located in Treaty 5 Territory and the Homelands of the Métis, this is a land of rivers, wildlife, and rich family history.
